Photos Without Identification

We have a number of old photographs, many of which are of people who have not been identified to any degree of certainty. Some of these photos are shown below, displayed as "thumbnails". If you click on a photo, it will be re-displayed in a much larger size. If you click again on the photo, the area around the "plus sign in the circle" will be magnified and displayed roughly in the center of the screen. For Example, if want to expand the area of a person's face, you can put the "pointer" on that face, click the left mouse button, and study the expanded display of the face. Click again, and the picture returns to essentially a full-screen display. You can now move the pointer to another face or area, click the mouse, and study the newly-selected magnified area.

If desired, after the pointer has been clicked to expand a selected portion of the picture, you can also move the magnified portion of the picture with the right-side and bottom scroll bars. When you are looking at a relatively sharp photo, you can see much more detail in this mode. These features should make it easier to identify the pictures subject(s).

When any of these photos have been identified, they will probably be moved to the appropriate person's page.

If anyone has any additional photos, with the people identified or not, we ask that you send high-resolution scans of the photos to us for inclusion in this website. If you have better versions of any of these photos, we will update them if you can send the higher-resolution file versions.

We will provide identifiers for the photos in the near future to assist in the identification process.

Note: some of the people in the pictures are already well known. We will provide the identities of these people in a newer version of this website. However, it might be helpful to include additional information regarding the photos, for example: date taken, location, other people in the photo, and any other information that would make the photograph more meaningful or informative.
