[Story:]

Carrie & Roy
Carrie, Roy and bump-out

Grampa Colyer built the family's house on Green Avenue in the Gardenview area of Williamsport Pennsylvania. There was an extension or bump-out on the dining room. This was not there from the beginning.

Catherine Colyer Stovall along with her two children relocated to Williamsport from Medford, Oregon. They stayed with Carrie and Roy till they found a house to rent.

Shortly after moving they met one of the neighbors. As they talked the two women realized they had both lived in Gardenview. The elderly lady told Catherine that she was the one that had crashed into the Colyer dining room while learning to drive. She went on to say that as she realized she was headed for the home she thought, "Oh no, this is going to be just like the movies"! She was not injured and no one was in the dining room when it happened.

When Grampa repaired the house he added that small extension which was probably welcome as the family grew to seven children.
